Nothing is normal at the moment as we have all become aware. Some good news as you may have heard we can now open our range, this while awesome news, also comes with very heavy restrictions which need to be adhered to during stage one Covid19 restrictions.
So whats going on? While the range may be “open” we can only have 10 members on the property at a time. Hence the soft opening, we need to have two Range Officers to run the range so that leaves 8 shooters at any one time and anyone else who arrives has to wait outside the gates for a shot. We have restricted range time to one hour per person this includes changing targets and setting up, each new detail will commence on the hour, so between 9am and midday we can only cater to 24 shooters and there will be a wait for everyone. Those waiting cannot come come through the gate’s and must practice social distancing while waiting outside preferably remaining in your cars.
A range officer will be at the gate to sign in each hourly detail, ensure you have your membership card and firearms licence ready to show the RO the order of entry will be the same as the order of signing in. The range is open to Coffs Harbour Branch members only at this time and we request that you bring correct money for the $10 adult sign in fee or $5 Junior fee, we will not be holding change. Shooters will be responsible for the placing and removing of their own targets only.
SSAA Coffs Harbour is your club and we are doing our best to allow our members some time shooting, please be patient and treat our volunteers with the utmost respect during this time.
In June we expect to be allowed more members on site but due to the 1.5m social distancing measure the range may still only be able to open 10 benches, we will advise here in due course.
Kindly refer to the calendar for shoot times and dates.
Stay safe, good shooting.
